Communication Design Foundation
ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE
SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN
Communication Design Foundation encompasses all visual imagery—both still and moving—that persuades, promotes, educates, and informs. In this program you’ll study computer technology, typography, color theory, and layout design, as well as presentation and web design—all vital skills for working in today’s design fields. The skills taught in this fundamental curriculum are a vital springboard for four BFA majors: Advertising and Digital Design, Graphic Design, Packaging Design, and Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design.

CAREER OUTCOMES
AAS graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in graphic design and corporate communications firms, publishing companies, retail art departments, and advertising agencies, but they typically go on to complete an FIT bachelor’s degree program.
