Because styling is the first step in creating fashion concepts for apparel and home products, stylists are a vital link connecting concept, design, presentation, and finished product. This program teaches design concepts, trend forecasting, and computer-aided textile design. In hands-on classes taught by industry professionals, you’ll study the role of fabric in fashion and learn about fashion design and styling while you master project management, color analysis, design, and trend-spotting for various markets.

CAREER OUTCOMES

Graduates work as trend forecasters, product development managers, style editors, wardrobe managers, and display and photo stylists, in industries such as publishing, theater, television, product development, and computer-related fields. Some graduates go on to master’s degree programs in such fields as visual culture and costume studies.

Students with an AAS in Communication Design Foundation, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Footwear and Accessories Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Jewelry Design, Menswear, Photography and Related Media, or Textile/Surface Design may apply to this BFA program.
