As a student in one of the world’s top fashion design programs, you’ll create designs informed by market research and inspired by history, art, and culture. The AAS program provides an essential foundation in computer-aided design, sketching, draping, patternmaking, construction, and textiles. The BFA program offers concentrations in children’s wear, knitwear, intimate apparel, special occasion, and sportswear. You’ll master advanced technologies, build presentation skills, and choose from a menu of design electives to customize your studies. The program culminates in a senior collection guided by acclaimed designers who serve as critics. Your work could be showcased in FIT’s professionally produced runway show, the Future of Fashion.

CAREER OUTCOMES

Many graduates work in the fashion industry as assistant, associate, designer, senior designer and eventually design/creative director roles. These positions range from high-end design houses to the world’s largest retailers. Other graduates start their own lines.
