In this program—accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation—you’ll collaborate with professional interior designers, lighting and graphic designers, and architects to create environments such as homes, offices, restaurants, stores, and hospitals. Industry-standard facilities include a research lighting laboratory, a working drawing print lab, and a model-making shop. The BFA curriculum emphasizes ergonomics, ecology, sustainability, advanced research methods and computer technologies, furniture and product design, presentation methods, and historic preservation. A two-semester senior thesis project, judged by a jury of professionals, pairs you with a faculty member and an industry mentor and becomes part of your professional portfolio.
