International Trade and Marketing for the Fashion Industries

International trade is the linchpin of the global fashion industry. At FIT, you will learn to navigate the complex international marketplace, including the financial, legal, logistical, and intercultural aspects of importing and exporting, with an emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility. You will study international negotiations, business strategies, fashion law, and market research. Classroom and/or online studies are supplemented with visits to corporate, customs, finance, and government offices. With hands-on experience in global business, you will graduate ready to work in international fashion companies—or to run enterprises on your own.

STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES
Semester programs in Paris, Rome, Melbourne, and almost any fashion center in the world. There are also winter practicums to international fashion capitals.

CAREER OUTCOMES
Graduates work in management positions in international trade and global fashion companies, in areas such as global sourcing, global marketing, licensing, environmental and human rights compliance, corporate social responsibility, and customs. They also work in import and export businesses.
