Spatial Experience Design

BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS
SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN

In this program—the first of its kind in the country—spatial experience designers combine display design, graphic design, electronic media, lighting, and custom fabrication to create installations for stores, museums, brand activations, and other environments. You’ll receive training in the techniques, equipment, and materials of spatial design; develop freehand drawing and rendering skills; use computer graphics programs to create sets, models, and other 3D presentations; and learn hands-on fabrication and installation skills. Students collaborate with industry partners such as Sony, Mattel, Macy’s, Sephora, and Vespa.

Product Presentation, Interpretive Exhibition Design, Brand, Spatial Experience and Retail Design, Placemaking, Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics, Prop and Set Design

CAREER OUTCOMES

Graduates create environments and activations for a wide range of businesses and institutions, from retailers, experience design agencies, and museums to trade shows, zoos, science centers, and more.
